Ultimately, your life is directed and your steps will be ordered by God. He can influence the decision an employer makes about you. Yes, he can direct your steps through rejection from the wrong organization or acceptance at the right company. The Bible says “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD; He directs it like a watercourse wherever He pleases.” Proverbs 21:1 (NIV) Trust that God knows what is best for you and that He controls the decision making. This trust will give you confidence that no matter what, your life is in God’s hands.
This reminds me of the time that I interviewed for a position and I was quite nervous about the whole thing. My confidence was not strong that I would get the position. I prepared for it with diligence; studying technical manuals to refresh my memory of the skills that I had that were applicable to the job. I did a lot of research on the organization of the company as well. I was really nervous because I had been fired from my previous position. I knew they would ask me the nagging question “Why did you leave your last job?” I had made up in my mind that I would give an honest answer –“ I was released from my duties.” I went on the interview and after I told them about my past, they hired me anyway. Actually they told me that I came highly recommended! God can and he will turn the heart of men in your favor!
